Modern slavery statement
Anti-slavery and human trafficking
Harper Macleod LLP is a Scottish Limited Liability Partnership operating in the legal sector, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Lerwick, Elgin and Thurso. Harper Macleod LLP is regulated by the Law Society of Scotland. We are committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and supply chain.
Within our business, we have in place a range of operational policies to complement our approach. This includes an Anti-Slavery policy setting out our commitment to combat modern slavery; an Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy; a Whistleblowing policy; and an Equality and Diversity Policy. Risk and compliance measures are embedded within our organisation.
We are an accredited Living Wage Employer under the Scottish Living Wage Accreditation Initiative and have achieved Gold Accreditation by Investors in People. In 2023 we were named ESG Firm of the Year at The Legal 500 Scotland Awards, and the first solely Scottish firm to be included in The Legal 500’s Green Guide for our approach to sustainability, climate action and net zero.
In order to provide legal services, we work with a range of suppliers, primarily within the United Kingdom. We endeavour to make sure our suppliers are aware of our policies, and request that they adhere to the same high standards and practices where appropriate.
While we do not primarily operate in high-risk sectors or locations, we regularly evaluate the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of modern slavery occurring in our supply chain and will investigate any potential risks as appropriate.
