Following the Scottish Government’s publication of its Space Strategy in October 2021, setting the goal of becoming Europe’s leading space nation and achieving a £4 billion share in the global space market by 2030, the Scottish Government has announced the formation of a new international committee to help support their ambitions.
Progress has already been significant in the industry with the first orbital launch from Scotland scheduled this year, and with Scotland becoming established as a world leader in small satellite production, growth in the sector will now be boosted by a group of global experts from the space industry.
The Scotland International Space Advisory Committee (SISAC), formed of members of the GlobalScot programme, will provide expertise, advice, and opportunities for the growing sector to achieve its goals and 20,000 jobs over the next seven years.
