Harper Macleod has advised on the sale of Calcluth & Sangster (Insurance Brokers) Ltd to Greenwood Moreland Insurance Brokers, part of the JMG Group.
Glasgow-based Calcluth & Sangster Insurance Brokers was formed more than 45 years ago by Ronnie McGregor, father of current director Stuart McGregor, and now employs sixteen people. It specialises in providing personal and commercial insurance broking services across a wide range of areas and sectors with a gross written premium of over £6m.
Harper Macleod advised Stuart McGregor on the transaction. Stuart will remain within the expanded Greenwood Moreland business, which is one of Scotland’s largest insurance brokers with an existing presence in Hamilton, Paisley, Greenock, Linlithgow, Tain, and Fraserburgh.
Harper Macleod’s corporate partner, Paul Macdonald, led on the transaction and was supported by Aiden Paterson, as well as partners Scott Milligan (employment) and Caroline Summers (commercial property).
