Miranda is a part of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, dealing with a wide range of contentious matters. She is accustomed to advising a diverse range of clients including private individuals and sole traders to multinational companies.
Miranda is an experienced litigator having run cases in Tribunals, Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session and is well versed in these forms of procedure. She has appeared in debates, proofs, as well as a wide range of opposed motions hearings. Miranda also works regularly with expert witnesses and counsel in more complicated and high value matters.
In addition to this, Miranda has extensive experience with various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution including adjudication, arbitration, mediation and expert determination.
She has experience with a wide range of claims but has a particular focus on construction, professional negligence and contract disputes. She is accustomed to dealing with disputes including bespoke contracts, SBCC, NEC3 and NEC4 and FIDIC, as well as contracts regulated by the Scheme for Construction Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 1996. In addition, Miranda has both pursued and defended professional negligence claims against a range of parties including architects, engineers, solicitors and surveyors.
In addition to this varied case load, Miranda is accustomed to providing strategic advice at the outset of claims and is well versed in negotiation for the purposes of settlement.
